Google has created a strong campaign to put together several pieces of useful software titles into one bundle that can be easily and freely downloaded and installed on your computer. This bundle also has software included that will keep your Google bundled software up-to-date with the latest versions of each. This software bundle includes: Google Desktop, Picasa, Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer, Google Pack Screensaver - a screensaver that displays pictures from the user's computers, Google Earth, Google Talk, Google Video Player (USA only), Mozilla Firefox with Google Toolbar, Spyware Doctor Special Edition, Norton Security Scan, Adobe Reader 7, RealPlayer, GalleryPlayer, and Skype. For those of you who are familiar with Google Pack and are wondering why I did not include Trillian, as of approximately March 2007, Google no longer bundles Trillian in Google Pack.
Of all of the applications in this bundle, Picasa gets the most promotion. The reason for this is simple: Picasa is a full featured photo editing, sharing and publishing software package.
The bundle is broken down into two categories: Google branded applications and third-party applications.
The Google branded applications are: Google Desktop, Picasa, Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer,Google Pack Screensaver - a screensaver that displays pictures from the user's computers, Google Earth, Google Talk, and Google Video Player (USA only).

One important note, the third party applications tend to change. There are at three applications that have been removed and replaced this year: Ad-Aware, Trillian, and Norton Antivirus Special Edition 2005 - with 6-month subscription.
Some sources say that Google is endeavoring to create a bundle that has the best-of-breed software in the select categories.
